FIVE TO SEE! wherever you are

SWITZERLAND: the Kupferstichkabinett of the Kunstmuseum Basel is displaying a retrospective of Georg Baselitz' graphic art (until April 29th).


SPAIN: the Biblioteca Nacional de España is hosting Dibujos de Rosario Weiss (1814-1843), until April 22nd


FRANCE: the Musée du dessin et de l'estampe originale in Gravelines is presenting 30 prints by Jan van der Straet dedicated to the Chasses sauvages (until March 12th).


POLAND: after being displayed at the National Museum in Warsaw, the Biedermaier exhibition can now be seen at the National Museum in Szczecin (until April 15th).

AUSTRIA: viennese watercolours (Das Wiener Aquarell) will be soon on display at the Albertina, from February 18th until May 13th. A curator tour will take place on April 11th at 17.30.

PhD PLACEMENT: the British Library in London offers a placement for a PhD student to study and catalogue c. 350 First World War French posters.


JOB: Leeds Museums and Galleries seek to appoint an Assistant Curator, Fine Art with a specialism in works on paper to join the team, based at Leeds Art Gallery

(closing date: February 18th).


CFP: "The Profession of the Print Publisher in the Long 16th Century" abstracts are now being accepted for the Annual Meeting of Sixteenth Century Society & Conference (Albuquerque, New Mexico, November 1-4) organised by Femke Speelberg, Department of Drawings and Prints (MET). The session is co-sponsored by the Association of Print Scholars.


ARTIST IN RESIDENCE: the Bodleian Libraries' Printer-in-Residence programme (one month) in 2018-19 is now open to letterpress printers and book artists. Deadline: 1 March 2018.


CONFERENCES AND EVENTS

Within the colloque "Faire carrière en Italie: les artistes étrangers à Rome et à Venise au temps de Nicolas Régnier" (Nantes, Musée d'arts, February 22-23), Ars Graphica member and Paris satellite coordinator Francesca Mariano will present a paper entitled Jérôme David «nobilis calcographus» au service de l’Accademia degli Incogniti à Venise.


The 2018 Salon du Dessin will take place in Paris, Palais Brongniart, from 21st to 26th March.
