DO YOU KNOW THIS MUSEUM? - Museo della Grafica, Pisa

Pisa might be most famous for its leaning tower, but it is also home to the Museo della Grafica, hosted in Palazzo Lanfranchi on Lungarno Galilei.

The museum's origins date back to 1957 when Sebastiano Timpanaro's collection (including works by Fattori, Morandi, Bartolini and other leading artists of the first half of Novecento) was donated to the University of Pisa and thus the art historian Carlo Ludovico Ragghianti decided to set up the university's Gabinetto disegni e stampe. Ragghianti involved many artists both in Italy and abroad to help the collection grow bigger, and launched the first series of exhibitions in the 1960s, which included some travelling exhibitions as well as collaborations with the Calcografia Nazionale in Rome.

The Museum is currently hosting two temporary exhibitions: Dantesca and Navigare tra i segni (until September 2). Read more about the museum and its collection here.
